2020 was a challenging year for many, Covid-19 literally changed our world. We were all forced to make adjustments and adapt to a new normal – this included taking a look at how I could safely photograph families during covid-19. The health and safety of my clients, as well as my own family, has always been my top priority. Because of that I wanted to take a moment to state that my business will (and always has) follow all precautions advised by the CDC and Maryland State Department of Health with regard to the covid-19 pandemic.
Above all, I believe in being a good community citizen. I take this virus very seriously and will be happily taking these extra steps for your health as well as my own. I know that by adhering to the guidelines below, I will be able to provide a safe environment to capture your family memories.
Since no blog post of mine is complete without photos, please enjoy the cute faces of a few families that trusted me to safely capture their memories during covid-19.
Rescheduling
If anyone in your house is feeling unwell or has had a fever in the past 14 days, please let me know. I have built in many reschedule dates in my calendar for this year and am happy to move your session to a day when everyone is healthy 🙂
You can find the CDC’s full list of Covid-19 symptoms here: Symptoms of Coronavirus | CDC
Immediate Family Only
At this time, I am asking that only members of your household attend the session. Please let me know in advance if you would like to bring a grandparent or nanny.
Masks and Sanitation
I will be wearing a mask to all sessions for the entire time. This includes in-home and outdoor sessions. I also ask that your family wear a mask when you are not being photographed. I will be cleaning my hands before and after each session, and hand sanitizer will be available for use throughout. My camera gear and any blankets or props used during the session will be cleaned and sanitized between each session. As always, I am up to date on my vaccinations and receive my flu shot every year.
Social Distancing
At in-home sessions and outdoor, social distancing is important! I will stay a safe distance away by using a long lens to shoot and avoiding as much personal contact with clients as possible during the session. This includes: hand shaking, hugging/tickling little ones, touching hair/clothing and hands-on posing. I will be using my voice to direct clients from a distance. As a family photographer who loves the real moments between the poses; I am confident that I will still be able to beautifully capture your family even with these new policies in place.
The Same Great Experience!
So much has changed over the past year, but a fun session and gorgeous memories will always remain a constant when you book a newborn, baby or family session with me. Thank you for continuing to support my small business and helping me keep my photo sessions a safe place for my littlest clients as well as myself!
