Earlier this month I completed my training and was accepted into an amazing organization as a volunteer photographer. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep provides the free gift of remembrance portraits to families suffering the loss of a baby.
I’ve always wanted to find a way to lend my talents as a DC family photographer to give back and when I learned of the work they do (many years ago), I was very touched and compelled to help. Now that my kids are a little older and I am available to be a bit more on call, I finally took the plunge. Through this organization, I’m able to share my time and gift to really touch a family’s life at a crucial moment.
Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is looking for more volunteers to help support their mission. There are many positions available, and you do not have to be a professional photographer in order to help. You have the power to make a difference in our community and I can say first hand that it is worth it.
I can help you learn more about how to get involved and you can also visit their website for more information
