Today is a very gray and gloomy day in Maryland. The perfect time to look back at a sunny summer session and my very first donut smash. Somehow, in all of my years as a md dc va photographer capturing 1st birthday portraits, I have never photographed a donut smash. Crazy, right? But I was feeling the itch to break out from my regular cake smash routine…so I asked Nora’s mama what she thought about a pile of donuts instead of a cake 🙂 She said let’s do it and so we did! And I love how it turned out! (I mean, it’s donuts…how could it not be amazing?? 😉 )
I can’t believe that this adorable, donut smashing girl is the same tiny newborn I photographed last summer! Seeing how much babies change over their first few years is definitely one of my favorite parts of being a family photographer in the DC area.
