As a family photographer in the DC area, once winter starts to thaw I begin my yearly hunt for gorgeous pink blossoms for the perfect spring photos. I’ve scouted many locations for mini sessions through the years, but nothing tops this spot! The light is so gorgeous and I love the deep colors of the magnolia trees. Plus there are a few cherry blossom trees on the property too! Such a great little secret garden! I first brought my kids here when Brooks was only two months old (see that session HERE), and it was great to bring them back! The trees were at a perfect peak bloom on a warm, sunny April evening. And somehow I already had the perfect outfits set aside (just in case!) so I promised my kids Happy Meals as a reward for cheerful cooperation 😛 and off we went!

A couple years ago I tried to do a monthly themed photo session of my kids. That was a really fun, but very challenging project. This year I am trying for a quarterly seasonal shoot 😉 I can’t wait to put all the photos together at the end of the year! I’ve already shot my summer themed session with them, but figured I needed to share the spring images on my blog first! If you know me, you know that I am always a stickler for keeping things in order 😉
